The studio

A private studio in Dundas, Ontario.

Not a salon floor, not a booth, and not someone setting up equipment in your bathroom. One room, one client at a time, and a solution mixed while you are standing there.

What private actually means here

There is no waiting room full of people and no one else being tanned in the next booth. Appointments are one-on-one and unhurried, with time built in to talk through what you want before anything is mixed.

That matters more than it sounds. Most of the anxiety people carry into a first spray tan is about being seen and judged, and a private room removes most of it structurally. The studio’s position on the rest is stated plainly:

“This is a judgement free zone. We see naked bodies every day in the studio and we’re only looking at your skin as a canvas.”

Why a dedicated room, and not mobile

A fixed studio means consistent lighting, which is the only way to judge colour honestly. It means the full range of brands, bronzer tones and tan depths is on hand to mix from rather than whatever fits in a travel kit. And it means proper ventilation and space to work around you.

Mobile tanning is genuinely more convenient, and for some people that decides it. But it is a different service with different constraints, and the trade-off is worth understanding before you book either one.

Who the studio serves

The studio is in Dundas, which since the 2001 amalgamation is part of the City of Hamilton. In practice clients come from across the west end of Hamilton and the surrounding communities: Dundas itself, Ancaster, Hamilton including the mountain and the west end, Waterdown and the rest of Flamborough, Stoney Creek, and Binbrook and Mount Hope in Glanbrook. Clients also travel in from Burlington, Grimsby and Caledonia.

Dundas sits at the western end of the escarpment, so for most of Ancaster, Waterdown and west Hamilton the studio is a short drive rather than a trip across the city.

Appointments are by request. Because each solution is mixed per client, there is no drop-in option, and the consultation is part of the appointment rather than an extra step.

What an appointment includes

A consultation to establish undertone, target depth and what you are getting ready for. A solution mixed for you rather than poured from a single house formula. Hand application with a compressed airbrush gun, contoured around the actual shape of you and eased off on hands, feet, elbows and knees. And guidance on rinse timing before you leave.

Occasions the studio mixes specifically for include weddings, events, vacations and photo days, plus everyday colour for clients who simply want to feel better in their own skin. Bridal timing has its own page, because the two-day rule matters and gets missed: bridal and wedding tans.

Before your appointment
